Thought to have been invented in 1500 BC by the Egyptians, scissors and shears were originally made from bronze. The pivot action you recognize and use today didn’t come about until the 6th century. Shears, a larger version of scissors, are used for more heavy duty cutting. This image is likened to an older, simpler time of lasting petina and a hard-metal work ethic. Hang it in your office and allow it to sharpen your focus to a razor’s edge.
