New Calendars for 2017

GIVEAWAY CLOSED

One of my favorite parts of Licensing my work, is seeing it licensed and printed as Calendars! This year I was fortunate enough to have 3 different calendars being produced. 2 were licensed by Trends International and the other you can pickup at Dollar Tree! They sell out pretty quick there, so I can't guarantee your local Dollar Tree will still have any in stock. But it's worth a shot!

The other 2 you can grab online at different websites. The calendar in the top right pic is the "Enjoy Life" calendar (has been spotted at Barnes & Noble) and the other is the "Home" calendar.

This next month I am going to set aside some time to dream up some new art for 2019 Calendars. 2018 has already been in the works and I can't wait to share that with you later this year! :)

In the meantime, I'm feeling super grateful for all the support I've had through 2016. From finally moving my main selling platform off of etsy, to launching my own curated collection of designer nails... you've been there cheering me on every step of the way- thank you! Truly. :) To give a little something back I'd like to giveaway 2 of these calendars (one of each shown) to 2 different people. So there will be 2 people who get the 2 calendars shown here. You can pick your fave of the two and share the other with a friend! ;)

To enter, I'm keeping it suuuper simple. Just tell me your favorite quote or phrase. The one you fall back on often for encouragement...

Last year I picked a “phrase of the year” for the first time, “Be still,” with a Bible verse and song to go along with. I needed the reminder to step back and take time to focus on God and peace. :) This year I’m not necessarily making it my official “phrase of the year,” but I’m loving a quote from a JJ Heller song: “Let’s fight a good fight, train our eyes to find the light, and make this year the best one yet.”

Now this is the Law of the Jungle-
as old and as true as the sky.
And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper-
but the wolf that shall break it must die.

As the creeper that girdles the treetrunk,
the Law runneth forward and back -
For the strength of th pack is the wolf,
And the strength of the wolf is the pack.

- Rudyard Kipling

Not exactly an encouraging/motivating quote, but a favorite for sure. “[Love] is an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken; it’s the start to every wandering bark.” A snippet from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116.

“Courage, dear heart.” C.S. Lewis I love this part in the third Narnia book. Just when the darkness is about to overtake Lucy, a light appears and out of that light an albatross, guiding the ship and whispering these words to her.

“Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’” Mary Anne Radmacher. I don’t feel like a strong person, I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished much with my life, but when I take a look around I get overwhelmed and all I want to do is sit on my couch and binge Netflix. I have this quote on my fridge for just such emergencies. It reminds me that through the loneliness, though the pain, through everything, if I can end the day with the willingness to try again even when I fail, I am strong. I don’t need a cape to be a super hero.

“Just Breathe.” I’ve got it tattooed on the inside of my wrist. I’m a worrier and every year I strive to let go a little bit more. Worrying won’t help and there’s only so much of life we can control. After reading your email, it sounds like you could use some breathing! Take some time and find yourself. There’s nothing wrong with that! Just glad to hear you’re okay! Xo

I know this is crazy long but the entire passage is an encouragement to me….. the basic summary is “don’t worry, God has got this. He feeds the birds and gives them homes, he will take care of you!”
Matthew 6: 25-35 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

“Believe.” I have this word tattooed on the inside of my left wrist. Have for the last five years. It is a reminder, often throughout the day, to believe in myself, believe in the good in the world, believe in others and believe that I am stronger than my depression, which I’ve struggled with for more than 20 years. It has become my mantra. One simple word, yet it holds so much meaning.
